RECONSTRUCTION AND REBUILDING

CITY OF FERNDALE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

(360) 384-4006

www.cityofferndale.org

If your structure has suffered damage and you are located within Ferndale City limits, please contact the City’s Community Development Department.  We can assist you in determining permitting requirements can also assist in determining which permits can be fast-tracked.

Before selecting a contractor, it’s wise to get more than one professional opinion, and make sure that the contractor that you hire is 1) experienced in the type of work they will be performing for you, 2) knowledgeable about insurance claims, 3) properly licensed and bonded through the state, and 4) obtains all of the appropriate permits before proceeding with the work.  There are many great contractors in our area. The demand for those contractors is high. Unfortunately there are also those who may not have your best interests at heart and may try to step in to fill that void and take advantage of a property owner when they are most vulnerable.
You can check on the status of a contractor’s licensing and bonds through the Department of Labor and Industries. If you’d like assistance or more information on contractors and permitting requirements and how they apply to your situation, please contact us at (360) 384-4006, and we will do our best to help.
