Notice of Traffic Revision and Possible Delays: Tuesday and Wednesday, March 11 and 12, 2025

Malloy Ave, north of Kona Ct

Malloy Avenue north of Kona Court will be reduced to single lane alternating traffic on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 11 and 12, 2025, between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm as crews complete work on the City’s Malloy Culvert Project. Work will include installing pedestrian railing at the Whiskey Creek crossing, and a lane closure is necessary to provide an ample and safe area for the installers to perform the work. Traffic control personnel will be onsite to direct traffic. Both lanes will be reopened during nonworking hours.

Equity Advisory Committee Vacancy

The City currently has an opening on the Equity Advisory Committee (EAC). The EAC is an advisory board charged with examining issues of diversity and promoting solutions to the City that help us embrace our diverse community and create a more fair and just future for Ferndale.

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of even months (February, April, June, August, October, December) at 5:00 p.m. All meetings are hybrid, with the option of attending in person at City Hall or remotely via Microsoft Teams.

Members shall be appointed upon the basis of demonstrated interest in, and knowledge and support of equity and diversity. Members of the public who have resided in the Ferndale School District boundary for at least one year are eligible to serve on the Committee.

Potential Quorum Notice – State Auditor’s Exit Conference March 12, 2025

In accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act (RCW 42.30), notice is hereby given that a quorum of Ferndale City Councilmembers may be in attendance at the following event:

State Auditor’s Exit Conference

Wednesday, March 12, 2025 11:00 a.m.

City Hall Main Conference Room, 2095 Main Street, Ferndale WA

The purpose of this meeting is to allow state auditors to share their preliminary results of the accountability audit of the City of Ferndale for the fiscal year 2023. This is an open public meeting as outlined by the Open Public Meetings Act, and members of the public are invited to attend and observe.

 

 

Notice of Traffic Revision and Possible Delays: Monday, March 3rd and Tuesday, March 4th

Portal Way – Between McKinley St and Kaas Rd

Drivers should expect delays as traffic is reduced to single lane alternating traffic on Portal Way, between McKinley St and Kaas Rd. The traffic revision is for Monday, March 3rd and Tuesday, March 4th, 2025. The traffic revision is in effect each day from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic. This is expected to be a two-day project for curb and sidewalk work.

This work is associated with a private development project.

Ferndale Terrace Closed to Through Traffic Between Hendrickson and Legoe Starting Monday 3/3

Ferndale Terrace CLOSED (to through traffic) between Hendrickson Ave and Legoe Ave

Drivers should plan to detour as a section of Ferndale Terrace, between Hendrickson Ave and Legoe Ave, will be CLOSED for utility work. This traffic revision begins Monday, March 3rd and is expected to last 4-6 weeks. The closure hours are from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM daily. Residents in the work zone will have access in and out of their homes. The road will be open to regular traffic outside of the work hours and on weekends.

This traffic revision is for work associated with the Ferndale Terrace Improvement Project.

Drivers should expect delays as traffic is reduced to single lane alternating traffic near 2273 Douglas Rd, between Poplar Dr and Ariel Ct. The traffic revision is in effect on Tuesday, February 25th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic.
