The City is now hiring a Code Compliance Officer.

This entry-level position acts as the primary contact for enforcement of civil violations and/or complaints related to the Ferndale Municipal Code. The code compliance officer is responsible for investigating complaints, initiating code enforcement activities, and processing violations to point of resolution. The code compliance officer focuses on land use, building, public works, and nuisance violations.

The City of Ferndale is now hiring a full-time Public Works Program Specialist.

This is a highly responsible administrative position that reports directly to the Public Works Project Manager. Must be knowledgeable in many aspects of organizational and operational processes and programs in order to support ongoing functions of the department. Responsible for the timely production of a variety of projects as assigned. Requires considerable familiarity with Public Works administration, capital project documentation, financial practices, analysis, procedures, and public relations. Work must be executed with precision, confidentiality, minimum supervision, and with exercise of independent judgment.

Now Hiring – Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance Worker & Operator in Training OR Operator

The Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance Worker & Operator-in-Training (OIT) performs a wide variety of water and wastewater treatment plant, water distribution and pump station, wastewater collection, pump and lift station, and reservoir operations, maintenance and repairs. The work includes computer operations, lab tests, process controls, and troubleshooting plant and/or systems to ensure proper operation; however, the emphasis is on maintenance, and the ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance.  The position works under Washington State regulations and procedures for water/wastewater treatment, serves as a utility worker as needed, and responds to complaints, questions, or other matters. Applicants who are Certified Operators in Water and Wastewater are eligible to apply for the Operator position, rather than Operator in Training.
