Now Hiring – Part Time Parks Laborer

The City is now hiring a Part-Time Parks Laborer.

The Part-Time Parks Laborer applies knowledge and skills to perform regular and recurring maintenance, installation, and repair work of city parks, using any of the equipment authorized and available.

This is a part-time, year-round position. The position is a 16-hour per week position, not to exceed 79 hours per month. The workweek consists of four (4) days on and four (4) days off, on a rotating basis. Shifts are four (4) hours each, with variable start and finish times, depending on parks events/activities.

Now Hiring – Public Works Laborer

The City of Ferndale is now hiring a Public Works Laborer. The Public Works Laborer is an entry level position which performs a variety of manual labor in the construction, maintenance, and service work of all public works facilities, including water, sewer, streets, and maintenance. Work includes the operation of hand tools and some motorized equipment. The Public Works Laborer usually works as part of an assigned crew assisting Utility Workers but may carry out individual or specialized assignments.

Now Hiring: Finance Director

The City of Ferndale is now hiring a Finance Director. The Finance Director is  a professional management position requiring a college degree and at least 5 years of progressively responsible finance management experience, preferably with a municipality or other government entity.

Under the general supervision of the City Administrator, the Finance Director is responsible for the design and implementation of the municipal budget, together with internal and external policies and procedures necessary to effectively and efficiently administer the budget and overall City finances. The Finance Director is responsible for collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders to ensure that the City can meet identified levels of service and long-range plans, and to effectively communicate the opportunities and risks associated with different policy choices, all consistent with state, federal, and local law.
