2024 Summer of Fun
Are you ready for warm weather and fun in your favorite parks? There is something fun to do in Ferndale almost every weekend this summer, so get ready to dance, eat, and thrive in your parks!
This year, our parks events are made possible in part by the generous support of WECU, our local credit union serving Whatcom County for over 80 years.

2024 Verano de Diversión

“]Special entertainment will also be provided at Food Truck Fridays this year:
June 14th – SpaceBand will liftoff the Pioneer Village Stage with covers that focus on R&B/Hip-Hop hits from the 90’s through the 2000’s. Show starts at 6PM.
July 12th– The Bellingham Circus Guild brings their own eclectic mix of aerials, juggling, and acrobatics to the Pioneer Village Stage. Twenty-minute show starts at 6PM with twenty minutes of guided public participation and instruction to follow.
August 9th – Jim Buk Tu will hit the Pioneer Village Stage with their covers of classic alternative rock. Show starts at 6PM.
Disfrute comida caliente y deliciosa hecha por camiones de comida locales el segundo viernes de cada mes este verano. Varios camiones de comida local se instalarán en Pioneer Village a partir de las 5:30 p.m. para que pueda tomar una cena de una variedad de vendedores.

]July 19th – Baby Cakes, a 10-piece powerhouse of highly experienced and talented musicians, will take you on a luxurious joyride through the golden age of American Soul, Funk, and R&B. Dance up a storm starting at 6PM.
August 17th – Lemon Creek invites you to celebrate women of Rock and Pop from the 80’s to present on the Pioneer Village Stage. Show starts at 6PM.

June 28th – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo are four turtle brothers with a unique set of skills and a penchant for mischief, which runs them afoul of New York City. Yet when a horde of sinister mutants begins to wreak havoc, the city must learn to rely on the turtles if they are to be saved. (PG)
July 12th – Kung Fu Panda 4. All three death-defying adventures defeating world-class villains with his unmatched courage and mad martial arts skills, Po, the Dragon Warrior, is called upon by destiny to… give it rest already. More specifically, he’s tapped to become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace. That poses a couple of obvious problems. First, Po knows as much about spiritual leadership as he does about the paleo diet, and second, he needs to quickly find and train a new Dragon Warrior before he can assume his new lofty position. (PG)
August 23rd (inside Pioneer Pavilion to allow for earlier start time of 6PM) – Migration. The animated film tells the story of a family of ducks dreaming of the perfect getaway vacation. Mack, the overprotective father, cannot take the risk of traveling from New England all the way to Jamaica. When his two kids, Dax and Gwen, try to convince him to take the leap, Mack must navigate the tricky route through New York City while keeping his family safe. (PG)
Coge tu manta o tu cómoda silla de camping y baja a Pioneer Park cuando el sol se occulta para ver un largometraje. La película comienza un poco después de las 9 p.m. cuando oscurece lo suficiente para ver la película. Palomitas y refrescos gratis disponibles para los asistentes.

28 de Junio – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. 12 de Julio – Kung Fu Panda 4. 23 de Agosto (dentro del Pabellón Pioneer para permitir una hora de inicio más temprana de las 6 p.m.) – Migración. La película animada cuenta la historia de una familia de patos que sueña con las vacaciones perfectas. Mack, el padre sobreprotector, no puede correr el riesgo de viajar desde Nueva Inglaterra hasta Jamaica. Cuando sus dos hijos, Dax y Gwen, intentan convencerlo de que dé el salto, Mack debe navegar por la complicada ruta a través de la ciudad de Nueva York mientras mantiene a su familia a salvo. (PG)
]Yoga in the Park – Saturday, July 13th, 10AM – 11AM inside Pioneer Village. Flow Motion, LLC will be hosting a free yoga class in Pioneer Park at 10AM. Open to all ages who would be interested. This is the perfect thing to help you Namasta-y healthy and flexible! Please bring your own mat and water bottle.
Wee One Nature Hunt – TBD. Bring your little one out to one of Ferndale’s parks for a Nature Hunt! Participants (and enthusiastic parents) will receive a scavenger hunt of simple natural objects (a tree, a leaf, a bird, etc.) and the participants will be encouraged to find as many as they can. Enjoy the fresh air and an opportunity for healthy movement at one of Ferndale’s parks.
Tie-Dye Your T-Shirt – TBD. You bring a t-shirt (sweatshirt, pants, pillowcase, etc.) and we provide the dye and instructions. Join us for an afternoon of Tie-Dye.
Yoga en el parque – Sábado 13 de Julio, de 10 a.m. a 11 a.m. dentro de Pioneer Village. Flow Motion, LLC organizará una clase de yoga gratuita en Pioneer Park a las 10 a.m. Abierto a todas las edades que estén interesadas. ¡Esto es perfecto para ayudarte a Namasta-y saludable y flexible! Other Community Events This Summer
Here are a few other community activities happening this summer that are not part of our parks activities but that you may want to attend.
Pioneer Village Tour Season – May 15th through September 15th. Tour guides will conduct costumed tours of the cabins at Pioneer Park during the spring and summer. Please visit Tours – Ferndale Heritage Society for more information.
Community Garage Sale – June 29th. Mark your calendars and get ready to explore Ferndale’s hidden gems at the Community Garage Sale. For more information, visit Ferndale Downtown Association – Community Garage Sale or contact FDA Executive Director Tosha Wade at FerndaleDowntownWA@gmail.com.
Jam on the River – July 13th. “Street Festival reimagined” courtesy of the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce. Join us for food trucks, music and all sorts of vendors on the Centennial Riverwalk.
Old Settlers Weekend “Pioneer Days” – July 26th-28th. Ferndale’s oldest community celebration, the Old Settlers Weekend includes live music, vendors, a parade, and so much more. Learn more at the Whatcom Old Settlers Association website here.
FerndALE Block Party – August 2nd and 3rd. The Ferndale Arts Commission & Fringe Brewing present the third annual FerndALE Block Party, held at the intersection of Third Avenue and Alder in downtown Ferndale. This event will be free for the whole family and will feature all ages entertainment & music all day, kid activities like balloon animals, rock painting and of course, food trucks, craft beer & local cider.
