Jury Duty

The court greatly values the role of jurors in our judicial process and appreciates their participation.  Jurors with questions or concerns about their service in Ferndale Municipal Court should contact the clerk at 360-384-2827.  Jurors serving in Ferndale Municipal Court must be residents of Whatcom County living within the Ferndale zip code.  

Please read your juror summons for information about your jury service and details regarding special circumstances allowing exemption from jury duty.  If you are unable to appear for jury service, you must return the questionnaire to the court with your request for excusal.  You will receive a response prior to your jury service date if your request has been accepted or denied.  If you do not hear from the court regarding your excusal, you are expected to show for jury duty.

PLEASE NOTE:
According to RCW 2.36.170, it is a crime for any person summoned for jury duty to intentionally fail to appear as directed.
