Overview
The Ferndale Arts Commission is charged with enhancing the community by advising on public art and community aesthetic enhancement.
Mission Statement
The City of Ferndale Arts Commission is committed to celebrating and cultivating the arts as essential to Ferndale's cultural, educational, and econimic development. We acknowledge the region's rich cultural history and diversity through artistic expression. We promote collaboration and connection among artists, residents, businesses, and visitors, and build positive relationships with all community members.
The City accepts applications for boards and commissions year-round, not just when there is a vacancy. If you feel you have something to contribute, please fill out an online application here or filling out the form at the bottom of this page.
Membership Requirements: Pursuant to FMC 2.30.040, Members shall be appointed upon the basis of demonstrated interest in, and knowledge and support of, the arts. At least four members of the Commission shall reside within the City limits at the time of their appointment and throughout their terms in office. Up to four members may be nonresidents who have resided in Whatcom County for at least one year.
