Hemmed in between the Nooksack River and Ferndale’s downtown district and completed in fall of 2007, Centennial Riverwalk Park created a pedestrian walkway and promenade along the west bank of the Nooksack River. Located on the Front Street right of way between Main and Cherry Streets, this park offers a variety of cultural sights and views of the Nooksack River and Mount Baker.
The plaza, located in downtown Ferndale on the west side of Main Street Bridge, hosts a fountain, flag pole, year-round foliage, permanent art display chosen from local artwork. Along the riverwalk, you will find interpretive panels with information about the Nooksack River, Mount Baker, native plants and species, and more. Story poles are also featured and bring the strong influence of Ferndale’s heritage of the Lummi Nation.
