Thank you to the over 500 residents who braved the rainy weather to join us for our Meet Your First Responders with Windermere Real Estate event last Sunday. We appreciate Windermere Real Estate for providing the food, and everyone who took the opportunity to engage with personnel from Whatcom County Fire District Seven and the Ferndale Police Department.

The Sky Colony
Join us for a free, all ages concert July 14th at 6pm. Jump, dance, hoot and holler at the stage in Pioneer Park with Sky Colony.
The Sky Colony’s sound is a folk rock revival. They describe it as “a mixture of the call of the Cascadian wilderness and an ‘age past’, the 60’s psychedelia era. Thanks to a Project Neighborly grant from the Whatcom Community Foundation, the City of Ferndale is able to host the Great Ferndale Midsummer Mystery, a city-wide scavenger hunt from July 1st -24th. Similar to the Great Ferndale Treasure Hunt last year, this adventure encourages residents to meet their neighbors, explore their city and solve the mystery of who stole the spirit of Ferndale!
To participate, grab a scorecard which can be downloaded by clicking here, or found at City Hall or at Food Truck Fridays (June 1st and July 6th) at Star Park. The scorecard keeps track of the clues found and the points earned.
Clues will be distributed through the City’s facebook page (found here), twitter account (found here) and posted at City Hall, the Ferndale Library and the Ferndale Visitor Center. The first clue will be released Sat. July 1st, and then after that it is every Tuesday and Friday until July 20th.
All participants will receive a prize, but the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will also receive a cash prize, 4th-6th place winners will receive gift certificates and everyone who participates will feel a sense of accomplishment and fun.

The Penny Stinkers began as a folksy “busking” band; through the last decade it has grown into a unique, high-energy party band playing the latest in musical genres including thier own hard-charging originals. The group’s robust vocals, in combination with its multi-faceted guitar and rhythm styles, serve to attract an enthusiastic following wherever the band performs. Above all, the Penny Stinkers is a dance band, one that gets people on their feet and dancing with many dedicated followers who try not to ever miss a performance!
