Drivers should expect delays as traffic is reduced to single lane alternating traffic near 5127 LaBounty Drive between Smith Road and Slater Road. The traffic revision begins Tuesday, May 30th, 2023. The one-day traffic revision is in effect from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic. Road will remain open during nonworking hours.

LaBounty Road Closure

Drivers should plan to detour as LaBounty Drive will be CLOSED to through traffic near the work site at 5127 LaBounty Drive between Smith Road and Slater Road. The one-day closure is scheduled for Wednesday, May 31st, 2023. Through traffic will be detoured via Pacific Highway. Local property access will be maintained throughout the closure.

Intersection of Douglas Rd. and Angelina St.

Drivers should expect delays as traffic is reduced to single lane alternating traffic near Intersection of Douglas Rd. and Angelina St. This traffic revision is scheduled for Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023. The traffic revision is in effect from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic.

This closure is to complete work associated with a private development project.

Intersection of Vista Drive and Thornton Street

In addition to the standing closure of Thornton Street between Vista Drive and Malloy Ave., drivers should expect further delays as traffic is reduced to single lane alternating traffic at the intersection of Vista Drive and Thornton Street. This traffic revision is scheduled for Thursday, May 18th and Friday, May 19th, 2023. The traffic revision is in effect from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic.

This work is to install a new sewer main and is part of the City of Ferndale’s Thornton: Vista to Malloy improvement project.

Portal Way, between Trigg Road and Kaas Road

Drivers should expect delays as traffic is reduced to single lane alternating traffic on Portal Way, between Trigg Road and Kaas Road beginning Friday, April 7th and lasting through Thursday, April 13th. Lane closures will be M-F between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic. Road will remain open during nonworking hours.

Thornton Street between Vista Drive and Malloy Avenue will be closed to through traffic.
EFFECTIVE: Monday, April 3rd, 2023, through fall 2023.

Drivers should expect to detour around Thornton Street between Vista Dr. and Malloy Ave. as it will be closed beginning on Monday, April 3rd. The closure is expected to last into the fall of 2023. The closure is in effect 7 day per week, 24 hours a day for the duration of the project. A detour route directs drivers South, to the Vista-Malloy Roundabout near Ferndale High School.

Through Traffic and Traffic Needing to Transit East-West
Through traffic should expect delays as they detour around the closure via the Vista-Malloy Roundabout.

Local Drivers
Residents inside the work zone should expect weekday delays as they enter and exit their neighborhood through the construction zone.

Pedestrians
A pedestrian pathway through the work zone will be provided.

This traffic revision is scheduled for Monday, January 9^th, 2023. The traffic revision is in effect from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic.

This one-day revision is for utility work associated with a private development project.

Thornton Overpass Girder Delivery

• Intersections at Vista/Thornton and Malloy/Thornton
• I-5 Exit 263 and Portal Way Roundabouts

Drivers should expect delays from Friday, November 4th through Friday, November 11th, as girders for the Thornton Overpass bridge will be delivered to the project site. Maneuvering the massive girders and other equipment through Ferndale city streets to the overpass work zone will cause intermittent traffic delays at various pinch points on Thornton Street and at the I-5 Exit 263 and Portal Way roundabouts.

Parking will be restricted around the intersections of Vista/Thornton and Malloy/Thornton on some days. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic when girders are moving through. Road will remain open during nonworking hours.

Drivers should expect delays as traffic is reduced to single lane alternating traffic on Main Street between Barrett Rd. and Old Settler Dr. on Tuesday, November 1st. The traffic revision is in effect from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Work will take place at one work area at a time and the traffic revision will shift locations throughout the day. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic. Road will remain open during nonworking hours.

This closure is for preliminary work associated with the Main Street: Barret Rd. to Old Settler Dr. Improvement Project.
