Shuksan Ave. and Golden Eagle Dr. Closed to through Traffic

Drivers should expect delays as Shuksan Ave. and Golden Eagle Dr. will be closed to through traffic starting Monday, August 21st. Residents living on Shuksan Ave., Cottage Pl, and Golden Eagle Dr. will have local access. All traffic on Shuksan Ave. and Golden Eagle Dr. will have access to a single lane moving in a clockwise direction only. This traffic revision is scheduled for Monday, August 21st – Friday, August 25th, 2023. The traffic revision is in effect daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The road closure and traffic revision are in effect during working hours until project competition.

This closure is to complete work associated with frontage improvements at Ferndale High School.

Intersection of Vista Drive and Thornton Street

In addition to the standing closure of Thornton Street between Vista Drive and Malloy Ave., drivers should expect further delays as traffic is reduced to single lane alternating traffic at the intersection of Vista Drive and Thornton Street. Work begins Thursday, August 17th and is expected to last several weeks. The traffic revision is in effect weekdays from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic during working hours.

This work is for stormwater upgrades and road improvements and is part of the City of Ferndale’s Thornton: Vista to Malloy improvement project.

Ferndale Road – South of Star Park to the Public Utility District Facility

8/18/23 Update
Ferndale Road will be open Sunday, August 20 to Tuesday, August 22 and will close again for road work associated with the project on Wednesday, August 23.

Drivers should continue to utilize alternative routes as Ferndale Road will be closed to facilitate the reconstruction of the flood damaged areas of the Ferndale levee. A delayed shipment of supplies has arrived, and work will resume on Wednesday, August 16th. The road will be closed from just south of Star Park to the entrance to the Public Utility District facility. The closure is in effect Wednesday, August 16th to Saturday, August 26th, from 6am to 6pm.

LaBounty Road Closure

Drivers should plan to detour as LaBounty Drive will be CLOSED to through traffic near the work site at 5127 LaBounty Drive between Smith Road and Slater Road. The one-day closure is scheduled for Friday, July 28th, 2023. The traffic revision is in effect from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Through traffic will  be detoured via Pacific Highway. Local property access will be maintained throughout the closure. Road will remain open during nonworking hours.

This work is associated with a private development project.

Drivers should expect delays as traffic is reduced to single lane alternating traffic near 5127 LaBounty Drive between Smith Road and Slater Road. The traffic revision is in effect Tuesday, June 20th and Wednesday, June 21st from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic. Road will remain open during nonworking hours. This work is weather dependent and could be extended.

Drivers should expect delays as traffic is reduced to single lane alternating traffic near 5127 LaBounty Drive between Smith Road and Slater Road. The traffic revision begins Monday, June 5th, 2023. The one-day traffic revision is in effect from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic. Road will remain open during nonworking hours.

Douglas Road CLOSED to through traffic, between S Church Road and Angelina Street

Drivers should expect delays as Douglas Road, between S Church Road and Angelina Street will be CLOSED to through traffic on weekdays from Friday, June 2nd through Tuesday, June 6th. The closure is in effect between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Motorists will detour around the closure via Angelina St and Stratus Pl. Local residents will have access to homes inside the closure area.

Douglas Road will be open on Saturday and Sunday.
