Streetlight LED Conversion Project to Start Early February 2017

Starting in the next couple of weeks, if you live north of Thornton Street, you may notice a two-man crew and bucket truck in your neighborhood. Work is scheduled to begin on the first phase of a yearlong process to install new LED fixtures on our older streetlight systems. The Relight Washington program is funded by the Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) and is being carried out by Puget Sound Energy (PSE). Aimed at improving street light infrastructure and lowering cities’ street light bills across the state, Ferndale will benefit as each old fixture is converted to more energy efficient LEDs.

For more information about this project, including work schedules, locations, cost savings and benefits to LED lighting systems, please check out the project page at www.cityofferndale.org/LEDLights or call the Ferndale Public Works Department at (360) 384-4006.
