Sign up for AlertSense to Receive Whatcom-based Updates During an Emergency

September is National Disaster Preparedness Month! Throughout the month, we will be sharing ways in which you can prepare for the next natural disaster. One way to be prepared is to be informed.

Sign up for AlertSense text alerts from Whatcom Unified Emergency Management. When there is an emergency in your area, they will text you details as the situation unfolds so you can make informed decisions for you and your family.

AlertSense is a service of Whatcom Unified Emergency Management, a combined effort by the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Department and the City of Bellingham. AlertSense allows them to send a message to an email address, as a text message to a phone, and/or as a voice message to a phone. They also have the ability to send a message to everyone registered in the system, or target the message to only those who have registered to receive messages for specific geographic areas (i.e. cities, towns or communities).
