Malloy Roundabout Project

This project calls for the improvement of the Malloy Avenue, Vista Drive, Ferndale Terrace, Shuksan Avenue and Memorial Drive area. The City received grant funding from the Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) to construct a roundabout to address traffic circulation and pedestrian safety in this area near Ferndale High School.

RAM Construction General Contractors, Inc. was awarded the contract to complete this project for their bid price of $1,359,146.81. Construction starts Monday, May 21, 2007, and will continue through the first part of September 2007.

For the first phase of construction on the roundabout project (May 21 st through June 24 th, approximately), Vista Drive and Ferndale Terrace will be closed to through traffic within the construction area (Vista Drive between Seamount Drive and Washington Street, and Ferndale Terrace between Legoe Avenue and Vista Drive). Local access will be maintained for those living within the closure area. Traffic during this time will be detoured to Legoe Avenue, Washington Street, Malloy Avenue and Seamount Drive. During the second phase of construction (approximately June 24 th until the project is substantially complete in early September), the above-described closures will still apply and Malloy Avenue and Shuksan Avenues will also be closed to through Traffic ( Malloy Avenue between Vista Drive and Seamount Avenue, and Shuksan Avenue between Golden Eagle Drive and Malloy Avenue. Again, local access will be maintained for those living within the closure area.
