Do you have a fruit tree or home garden that provides more produce than you can use? Please share!
The Small Potatoes Gleaning Project works to connect excess fruits and vegetables from home gardens, farms, and farmers markets with those in need in our community. Crews of volunteer gleaners harvest and transport over 135,000 lbs of fresh produce to food banks, soup kitchens and feeding programs in Whatcom County every season. The project is always interested in connecting with volunteers and food donors. From the scale of a backyard apple tree to a farm harvest, if you have more than you can use or sell, we'd like to talk. Please call the Small Potatoes Gleaning Project coordinator, Max Morange, at (360) 739-5274 or send an email to glean@bellinghamfoodbank.org.
