The City of Ferndale is now hiring a Finance Director. The Finance Director is a professional management position requiring a college degree and at least 5 years of progressively responsible finance management experience, preferably with a municipality or other government entity.
Under the general supervision of the City Administrator, the Finance Director is responsible for the design and implementation of the municipal budget, together with internal and external policies and procedures necessary to effectively and efficiently administer the budget and overall City finances. The Finance Director is responsible for collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders to ensure that the City can meet identified levels of service and long-range plans, and to effectively communicate the opportunities and risks associated with different policy choices, all consistent with state, federal, and local law.
